The first time I met Kevin Nathaniel and Famoro Dioubate ws at our first gig together. I was deeply honored to perform with them, as they are both true virtuosos. Famoro is a master of the Giunean balafon, and Kevin specializes in the mbira (a West African thumb piano). Kevin can also throw down a groove on shekere that you could hang your coat and hat on.

We began playing and wow--did we ever click!

Also with us for that show was Brazilian dancer Rita de Cassia da Silva, whose spirit and energy had the audience moving and chanting with us for hours.
